CDC has Summer Youth Pursuit Programs to help individuals with disabilities learn more about possible job opportunities and work readiness.
This summer, we had two different programs, one in Blair and one in Mondovi.
In Blair, there were seven high school aged students who learned about work skills to get them ready for their future. They developed a resume, learned about email etiquette, practiced interview questions and more. They had the opportunity to learn and practice communication, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, enthusiasm, attitude, networking and professionalism. The students also toured local businesses to see what job opportunities were in the community. They went to Global Finishing Solutions, Titan Air and many more.
The Mondovi group had similar learning objectives and were able to tour many of the same businesses.
In summer 2018, CDC is looking to expand it’s program to Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire. For more information, call Susie at 715-834-2771.
